Another busy week, and today is finally the last day of February. I'm heading to Miami for a work trip on Sunday (yay, warmth!) but my flight is at 7am, which is going to be tough ...

Cactus Blossom from Texas Roadhouse |
What I've been up to this week:
- Dining out/getting takeout. Last Friday, I had a free cheesy bread coupon from Green Lantern to use - and I always forget they have a Southfield location on Telegraph now—so we double-dipped, so to speak: we picked up my bread, and then got Buddy's takeout as well, which was tasty, since we had some holiday gift cards to use. On Saturday night, we were seeing a movie at Emagine Novi, so we went to Texas Roadhouse around 7pm after for dinner. TXR is always tasty, but my husband and I both agreed we won't be going back on a weekend night for dinner anytime soon; it was a 50-60 minute wait (not a big deal; we put our name in on their online wait-list, and stopped by my parents' house for a second), and then when we got there, it was like 15 minutes to find a parking spot, which was frustrating.
On Sunday, I went to visit my parents and had Hungry Howie's takeout with them, too, and on Wednesday, my mom and I went to a show at the Fisher and had Pita Way in Novi beforehand. - Seeing Parade at the Fisher. I had never seen this musical before so I didn't know much going into it—including that it is a true story. It ended up being VERY good, albeit sad, and I'd recommend it. It will be at the Fisher until March 9th, so you have plenty of time to see it, too. Read more at my blog post here.
- Seeing movies. We saw Captain America: Brave New World at the theater last Saturday, and I would give it 3.5/5 stars; it was a lot of fun but not as good as other Marvel movies I've seen. I also continued my Bridget Jones movies rewatch this week with the last one, Bridget Jones' Baby (2016), which was fun but not as good as the first two, IMO. The ending was rather clever, though, and explained how Hugh Grant was able to come back in the most recent movie on Peacock.
- Watching TV shows. A new one debuted on Netflix yesterday that I'm really liking, called Running Point, with Kate Hudson—people are describing it as Ted Lasso but for basketball, I am not sure I'd go that far but there are similarities. The episodes are only a half-hour long, so I binged half of the ten episodes yesterday. I also started Apple Cider Vinegar yesterday, also Netflix, and it's good but kinda chaotic; it definitely reminds me of the Elizabeth Holmes story on Hulu. Other than that, I've still been watching Married at First Sight, Love is Blind, Paradise, The Way Home, Shifting Gears, Abbott Elementary, Yellowjackets, Severance, Surface, Matlock, Elsbeth, The White Lotus, and Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage (whew, it's a lot). I also started Grosse Pointe Garden Society this week, on NBC/Peacock, and it's supposedly set in Grosse Pointe, MI, so the Michigan references were fun (however, I believe they filmed it in Atlanta).
- Cooking. We got a HelloFresh box this week but almost did not—I noticed they had charged me full price ($70, ugh) and I had a discount on my account, which must have expired, so I asked them to cancel the box and refund me. They said they refunded me, and there would be a SLIGHT chance the box would still show up, and it did, so on Monday night we had onion crunch chicken, and on Tuesday we had pasta with mushrooms and chicken, both of which were tasty. I still have an Asian steak recipe to make tomorrow too. My husband made stir-fry for us on Wednesday when I was out at the Fisher, and yesterday we made calzones, which were very good.
