Digital copy of Mufasa: The Lion King
I saw Mufasa: The Lion King in theaters in December, not really expecting much because I wasn't a huge fan of Disney's live-action The Lion King, which premiered in 2019. However, I ended up really liking it, and now three of my lucky readers will win a digital code for the movie!
About the film:
Exploring the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, “Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny—their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.
My review:
I gave the movie 4.5/5 when I saw it back in December. It jumps between past and present, and starts in the present, with Simba, Nala, and their child Kiara. Rafiki, Timon, and Pumbaa have prominent roles in the present-era scenes, too, which I also liked; I found Timon and Pumbaa to be a great comic relief in the 2019 movie.
The backstory in this film was interesting, as well, which is part of why I gave it 4.5/5.
Overall I really enjoyed this movie, and would recommend it for any Disney fans or fans of The Lion King franchise.
