Review: Elegear Japanese Arc-Chill Cooling Blanket
*Disclosure: I was provided a cooling blanket for reviewing purposes. The opinions expressed here, however, are my own.
Back in February of last year, I reviewed a cooling comforter from Elegear. My boyfriend just bought a California King mattress, so when I was offered the chance to review a cooling blanket, I agreed.
I really like the other cooling comforter I received from Elegear last year—I use it in the summer in place of my normal, heavier comforter. I was expecting this cooling blanket to be the same lightness, but it's actually even lighter—which is not a bad option for Michigan summers.
My boyfriend has two cats, Gregory and Momo, and both are always curious when new items arrive at his house. Once I opened up the comforter, Momo immediately jumped onto it and started exploring.
The pattern of the blanket is very nice—it's coastal-themed, with starfishes and seashells on it. In the picture on Amazon, you can choose Blue or Gray, and I chose Gray.
Gregory eventually sprawled on it too, to check it out.
After sleeping on the blanket for a few nights, I can confirm that it's nice and light. I prefer a little more thickness, for a blanket, but for those who prefer a lighter blanket, they will like this one.
The material is what my boyfriend called "swimsuit material"—on Amazon it's listed as "Japanese cooling fabric," and it's at least partially made out of polyester.
If you have pets (especially cats), be aware that it does pull easily—after one night using it, Momo had already pulled it in one spot. However, after a few days using it, there were still only one to two pulls in the fabric, from the cats (versus more than two).
Right now, the blanket is on Amazon starting at $24.99, with various discounts ranging from 10% off to larger (the larger the blanket, the larger the discount). This specific California King one is $53.99, with a $10 off coupon, and I also have an ADDITIONAL 10% off coupon for my readers—you input the code at checkout:

What kind of blanket do you prefer in the summer vs. the winter? Do you prefer lighter or heavier fabrics?
