The Friday Five, 2/11/22: 5 things I've been up to this week

I'm actually writing this on a Thursday, because tomorrow I won't have access to my computer. This week has been pretty busy and this weekend is shaping up to be fun as well.

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Eating out. Lots of good eats this week. Last Friday, I met up with two blogger friends at Cooper's Hawk in Troy, for my first time there, and their Brussels sprouts were very delicious. I had the chicken piccata for my main course and it was also tasty, and huge for a lunch portion. On Sunday, my boyfriend and I tried out Baba's, in Dearborn, which was also good—he used to go there a lot on his work lunch breaks but it was my first time there. We also met up with some friends of his for dinner, at Las Palapas in Livonia, which was also very good, I had the birria quesadillas as well as a pina colada. Yesterday, a friend and I tried out Frame, for the Val's Pizza pop-up, in Hazel Park—Frame has different "pop-up" places usually, we originally bought tickets for the Khana pop-up last week but because the weather was so snowy on Wednesday, we changed it to the pizza pop-up this week (no butter chicken nachos for me ... oh well). Everything was tasty, though.
  2. Watching movies. I saw Moonfall at the theater last week and I'm still not entirely sure what I watched, haha. It didn't help that I wore my mask + John R has recliners, and I was tired that day, so I took a nice snoozle during the middle third of the movie. I'm hoping to see I Want You Back on Prime this weekend as well as Marry Me on Peacock ... I love that consumers have choices now and get to choose if they would rather see first-run movies at the theater or at home!
  3. Cooking. I had Blue Apron last week as well as this week. Earlier this week I cooked a steak with togarashi vegetables dish, and mashed potatoes with creme fraiche, which was pretty delicious. Next week I will do Dinnerly, but Blue Apron has been sending me some crazy good deals recently (i.e., two meals for $9.95 total or three meals for $23.95) so I've been subscribing to them often.
  4. Bon Bon Bon pickup. Before Frame in Hazel Park yesterday, my friend and I headed to Bon Bon Bon in Midtown—I had ordered their Valentine's Day collection all the way back in early January, I think maybe even on January 1st, and last week was my week to pick my chocolates up but due to the weather I postponed it to this week. I haven't tried any of the chocolates yet but their chocolates are usually delicious, so I plan on trying one out today (Thursday).
  5. Watching TV shows. I'm slowly but surely catching up on my shows, but Love is Blind the U.S. edition and Dollface come back today (Friday), so I'm sure I will be behind again soon, haha. Love is Blind: Japan also came out this week, with the first five episodes already up, so I'm hoping to watch that too. I started watching Search Party (HBO Max), the final season, during my lunch break and I have one more episode left today in that series, then it's probably back to Golden Palace, or maybe Station Eleven, for my lunch TV show. Grownish is back on Freeform and Hulu, too, and I've been playing catch-up on The Wonder Years (newer edition), Call Me Kat, Kenan, Abbott Elementary, and others.
