The Friday Five, 12/10/21: 5 things I've been up to this week

This week has had its ups and downs, but I'm glad it's Friday, as I have a fun weekend planned, starting with checking out the new Tigar Sugar location today at an influencer tasting event—it's located next to Ima, in Madison Heights, and its grand opening is tomorrow, 12/11/21.

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Getting takeout. I think, shockingly, I only did takeout this week, and didn't dine-in at all at a restaurant. On Saturday, I got Buddy's takeout with someone, and we tried the "Detroit Public TV" pizza, pictured above—it had pepperoni underneath the cheese, as is tradition with Detroit-style pizza, and then their "Old World Pepperoni" ABOVE the cheese too. It was good but I prefer just their regular pepperoni. Also on Saturday, I had pre-ordered one of Crumbl's hot chocolate cookies; unfortunately, when I arrived at the Novi location, they had JUST run out, so I settled for a Pancake cookie instead, which ended up being pretty good. On Sunday, I got Condado Tacos takeout after my infusion, too, which is always tasty—I usually get their $10.99 Bud Box, which gives you two of the "premade" taco choices and a half-side of chips and guac, or salsa, if you like. On Tuesday I also got Mr. Kabob takeout, one of my favorite shawarma places.
  2. Watching movies. Last Saturday I also rewatched The Last Duel, which was great, and on Sunday I went to the theater to see C'mon C'mon, to which I would give 3.5/5 stars. The black and white cinematography was definitely gorgeous, and the little boy stole the show, but it was a little slow for me. I also saw a virtual screening of The Tender Bar yesterday, which will be on Amazon soon. In addition, I'm seeing West Side Story on Sunday this weekend and pretty excited about that!
  3. Watching TV shows. So many good returning shows this week. I had no idea that Pen15, on Hulu, was back, unfortunately with the last-ever episodes, as the two showrunners have decided to end the show, so that's what I binged at my infusion on Sunday. And Just Like That, the new chapter of Sex and the City, premiered yesterday so I definitely watched those two episodes (and OMG, I have feelings about them—feel free to leave a comment below if you do too!). The last two episodes of The Sex Lives of College Girls premiered this week too, and I've also been catching up on B Positive, Young Sheldon, and season 2 of The Great, on Hulu. I finished Locke + Key, my lunchtime show, as well.
  4. Getting my infusion. Which almost didn't happen, because last-minute on Friday, I got a phone call from them saying they didn't have the necessary paperwork, so then I had to go bug UM for that. I got it on a Sunday this time which is unusual for me, usually it's on a Saturday but they said they were understaffed, and asked if they could move me to Saturday instead. Next time will be back to Saturday, hopefully.
  5. Cooking. I ordered a Dinnerly box this week, but unfortunately instead of showing up on Tuesday as promised, it showed up on Wednesday. So far I've only made a basil chicken recipe, which was good, and I still have a steak recipe, which I plan on cooking Sunday before the movie, and a chicken quesadillas recipe to cook. I am getting another Dinnerly box on Tuesday, too (well, hopefully on Tuesday!).
