This week has seemed really long and I think it's because it's the first week in a few where I've been in the office for all 5 days ... yes, I'm spoiled (Thailand for work, then NOLA, then RI for a personal trip). Next week will only be 3 days too because of the July 4th holiday.

Hugh Jackman concert at LCA, Detroit |
What I've been up to this week:
- Seeing Hugh Jackman in concert. A friend and I bought these tickets back in December or January, I believe—I was super excited to see he was coming here. We splurged a bit on 100-level seats, as well. He put on a great concert, and he sang songs from The Greatest Showman, Beauty & the Beast, Les Mis, and more.
- Seeing movies. Last Friday I saw Men in Black, which was terrible, and I don't usually say that about movies ... I'd give it a generous 2 stars out of 5. On Sunday, we saw Toy Story 4 in 3D, and although overall it was cute, I was hoping it would be better—I'd give it 3.5/5 stars, and probably only because it's a Toy Story film, otherwise it might have been 3/5 from me. On Tuesday, I saw The Dead Don't Die, which was weird but which I liked better than MIB ... 2.5/5 stars from me. And on Wednesday, I saw an advance screening of Spider-Man: Far From Home, which was excellent, and which I might even like better than Avengers: Endgame. My full review of that will be up sometime soon but I'd give it 4.5/5 stars.
- Going to a birthday dinner. A friend was going to have a birthday dinner at Antihero, in Ferndale, last weekend, and I was excited to try it out ... only to get to Ferndale and find that Antihero had had a kitchen fire, and knocked out power to their entire side of the street (whoops!). Luckily, Bobcat Bonnie's was able to accommodate our large group, and they're always great (great service, great food). We also tried out PORT afterwards, which is the tiki bar in the back of the WAB (Woodward Avenue Brewers), and their drinks were pretty good.
- Seeing fireworks. Last Saturday I spent the night at my parents' house so I could see the Walled Lake fireworks. They always put on a good show but it seems to get better and better every year.
- Eating out. Other than the birthday party, I went to Kona Grill on Sunday for their all-day happy hour—they had also sent me a $10 off $10+ coupon in the mail, which was great. On Monday, we originally wanted to go to Rusted Crow for their happy hour, before the Hugh concert, but we ended up at Bucharest Grill instead since we didn't have much time; their shawarma is always tasty. On Wednesday, my parents and I went to Pei Wei for dinner before the Spider-Man screening, and tonight a coworker friend and I are planning on Mr. Kabob before the Jimmy Eat World/Third Eye Blind concert at Freedom Hill.
