The Friday Five, 2/15/19: 5 things I've been up to this week

Apologies for skipping the Friday Five on 2/8—I completely forgot about it, as I was in Nashville for work and would have had to write and set up the post on Tuesday of that week. Oops ...

As for this week, it's been playing catch-up at work from my work trip, seeing a few shows (including movies), and eating lots of good food, per usual.

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Seeing plays and musicals. Last Saturday night, two friends and I went to see Legally Blonde: the Musical at the Fox Theatre. Legally Blonde is one of my favorite movies, and although the show was definitely "fluffy," it didn't disappoint, especially the sexy UPS guy! Ha. On Wednesday, a friend and I saw The Play That Goes Wrong, at the Fisher Theatre; she loved it, I thought it was okay, but still worth seeing—I'd give it like 3.5/5 stars. The set design was awesome, though, as it keeps falling down during the play (literally everything that can go "wrong" during this play does...).
  2. Seeing movies. Going to see What Men Want today, as I write this (Thursday). On Friday, my boyfriend and I are going to see Alita in 3D, and on Sunday, we plan on seeing Cold Pursuit, the new Liam Neeson movie.
  3. Eating out, and cooking. Before Legally Blonde, my friends wanted to try Brome in Detroit, so we parked at the Fox then took the QLine over there. I've been to that location once and Dearborn a few times, and it's always delicious. On Sunday, some friends and I did Korean BBQ at Chung Ki Wa, in Sterling Heights, with some Kung Fu Tea afterwards for bubble tea, and on Wednesday, I went to Granite City before the Fisher show downtown. I had my first Plated box to cook last weekend, and this week I have Hello Fresh, too.
  4. Recovering from my trip. On Saturday I kind of just hung out in my PJs and watched TV all day until I had to leave for Brome/Legally Blonde, which was nice. On Sunday we didn't do much either until KBBQ, which was at 6pm.
  5. Trying to plan summer travels. I really don't have many personal trips this year (though I am fortunate to have a lot of work travel), so I'm trying to plan something for the summer. A Birthright friend and I discussed maybe going to Ireland, if we could find cheap airfare, which has been on my bucket list for forever (as has Italy). More likely, I will probably go back to MA/RI to visit relatives, maybe in June or July, if Delta ever lowers its prices—right now it's about $300 roundtrip, and last year I paid like $225. I have a lot of Southwest miles ("points") to use too, but they unfortunately don't fly nonstop to Providence, and for that short of a trip I'd rather it be nonstop.
