Tech review: HP AMP 100 Printer with built-in Bluetooth speaker
*Disclosure: I received a HP AMP 100 printer to facilitate this review. The opinions expressed here, however, are my own.

When I was in Orlando for a blogging conference this summer, I went to an off-site event, where the latest and greatest offerings from HP were on display.

One of the things that really caught my eye was the HP AMP printer—they did a demo of it for us during the event, and it has a lot of interesting features that I haven't seen before. One feature I especially remembered is that you can receive phone calls on it, if your phone is hooked up to its Bluetooth function. That's crazy! {and also crazy cool.}

Imagine my surprise, then, to find one on my doorstep a few months later!

I have been playing around with the printer since then, and of course I had to try picking up a phone call on it, too. (Saying "I'm speaking to you from my printer" to my mother made me laugh ...)

Setup was fairly easy—you can download the HP Smart app on your Android or iPhone, and it didn't take much time to set up. The printer is HP Instant Ink compatible, too—I opted not to sign up for the program, but I have the program on my other printer at home, and it will re-order ink for you when your printer runs out.

Once the printer was up and running, I immediately hooked up my (Android) phone to it via Bluetooth, and opened up my Pandora app. I was able to stream music from my phone through the speakers on the printer, which was pretty awesome. I could see this being especially useful if you have a desk set up at home (which I have been meaning to do for a year now ... I'll get there eventually ...).

The printer also comes with a $10 Google Play gift card (bonus!)—even if you have an iPhone, you can still use the Google Play app to watch movies, listen to music, or read books.

I will say that I forgot to unhook my phone from the printer Bluetooth, and when I went to watch an Instagram video later in the day, the audio was playing through the printer ... oops!

I haven't used the printer too much yet, but overall, I'd say it has some really cool features that you won't find in other printers, such as the ability to answer phone calls and stream music through Bluetooth. It's currently retailing for $129 on Walmart.com and in stores.
