TV Review - Girls: The Complete 5th Season (& Digital HD code giveaway!}

*Disclosure: I received a Digital HD code in exchange for this post. The opinions expressed here, however, are my own.

I started watching Girls, on HBO, a few seasons ago, and it's a great show. It follows the lives of four twenty-somethings who live in NYC, and the four girls couldn't be more different, so it makes for great TV.

Season 5 is now out on Digital HD, and one of my lucky readers will win a Digital HD code (redeemable on Google Play, iTunes, etc.) so they can watch the show.

More information:
Hailed as “deeper and funnier and better than ever” (Washington Post) and “spectacular” (Vulture.com), the fifth season of Girls is “the best yet” (New York Post).

Just weeks after the hot HBO comedy ended its latest season, Girls: The Complete Fifth Season will be available to own via Digital Download on May 16, 2016 for the SRP of $18.99 (SD), $24.99 (HD). Season Passes are available now!

Created by and starring Lena Dunham, the Emmy®-winning HBO series GIRLS takes a comic look at the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of women in their 20s. This season Hannah is putting her writing ambitions aside for the moment, continuing to work as a teacher alongside new boyfriend (and nice guy) Fran. Marnie micromanages her upstate wedding to Desi, but soon begins to realize she needs more space, literally and figuratively. Working towards becoming a therapist, Jessa tries to stay on the straight and narrow while managing a budding relationship. Shoshanna thrives at her new job in Japan, where she flirts with her boss, despite a long-distance relationship back home.

I watched the 5th season on HBO and was intrigued by the arcs for each of the characters. I liked Shoshanna's story the most - she goes to Japan for a job, only to later be laid off, and she has to decide if she wants to come back to the U.S. or stay in Japan. Marnie marries Desi, but soon realizes it's not working out, and Jessa is trying to navigate a relationship with Adam (Adam Driver) but they want to keep it a secret from Hannah, since she is Adam's ex.

There were some great guest-stars this season too, like Jenny Slate (Obvious Child), as a former "frenemy" of Hannah's, and Fran (Jake Lacy, also from Obvious Child) as Hannah's current boyfriend.

I'd recommend Girls for anyone in their 20s or 30s, or anyone who can remember the everyday trials and tribulations of that period in their life.
