Olga's Kitchen seasonal menu items: Autumn Turkey and Apple Olga {+ giveaway!}
*Disclosure: I received a meal at Olga's Kitchen in exchange for this post. The opinions expressed here, however, are my own.
This week, a friend and I were able to stop by the Troy, MI Olga's Kitchen location, to try out some of their new seasonal menu items, including the Autumn Turkey and Apple Olga.
Other seasonal menu items include a Kale and Roasted Apple Salad with Chicken, a Pumpkin Spice Olga Bread Pudding, and apple cider.
We of course had to start out with an appetizer order of Snackers—they are my favorite menu item at Olga's. If you've never been to an Olga's, Snackers are little seasoned pieces of pita bread, served with a mound of Swiss almond cheese on the side, and they are DELICIOUS.
My friend ordered the Autumn Turkey and Apple Olga, which is made with oven roasted turkey breast, fresh spinach, sautéed Gala apples and onions, Cheddar cheese, house-made cranberry aioli, all wrapped in an Olga pita. She said she really enjoyed it—although she couldn't really taste the cranberry, the other flavors blended together nicely, and the apples gave it a nice sweet taste.
I had the other seasonal menu entree, the Kale and Roasted Apple Salad with Chicken. Although I'm not a big kale fan, the taste was not overpowering, and it also had candied walnuts, apples, and Brussels sprouts in it. I also really enjoyed the dressing, which was Blueberry Pomegranate.
My friend ordered the Pumpkin Spice Olga Bread Pudding for dessert, which she said was also very tasty. The pudding is Olga Bread baked in a rich pumpkin-spiced custard cream, cinnamon, and brown sugar, and then topped with whipped cream. (no picture because it was gone too quickly!)
I also ordered the apple cider, pictured above, and that was quite good too—comparable to any local cider mill, in my opinion.
{Psst! Right now Groupon has an Olga's deal—pay $15 and get $20 to use. I usually wait until a 20% off promo code is offered from Groupon, too—there's one now as I type this, actually—so your total would be $12, in that case. Click here for my affiliate link!}
Have you ever been to Olga's Kitchen before? If so, what's your favorite item to order there?
