Review and GIVEAWAY: Love with Food subscription box {ends 9/2}

*Disclosure: I received a Love with Food Deluxe box for reviewing purposes. The opinions expressed here, however, are my own.

At BlogHer this year, I was introduced to Love with Food, a subscription box that aims at providing healthy snacks - their motto is "Snack Smart. Do Good."

I've been trying to eat healthier this year, but I'm definitely a snacker - I like snacking while relaxing at home, and also having desserts with my meals. Love with Food intrigued me because it's full of yummy snacks, but they are all "better for you" snacks.

I received my first box this week, and it was chock-full of interesting snacks.

The PopCorners chips surprised me - I started eating them thinking they were just regular tortilla chips, disregarding the "Carnival Kettle" wording on the front, and they were actually kettle-flavored chips - nice and crunchy, with a hint of sweetness.

The first snack I devoured was actually the Montmorency cherries, though; I love cherries, and these were very good. Definitely full of flavor, especially compared to other dried cherries I have tried.

I've also tried the toasted coconut toffee, which was superb, as it also has sea salt in it, which I was unaware of; and the quinoa chocolate chip mini cookies, which just tasted like "regular" (non-quinoa) cookies and were also delicious.

The Dippin' Chips look similar to veggie straws or chips, which I've tried before, and that will probably be the next product I eat from the box.

All of the products I tried were not only delicious, but full of good ingredients too - a lot of them were gluten-free, and many were non-GMO, etc. That is what Love with Food strives for, also. They promise their customers the following:

  • No artificial flavoring, coloring, or MSG
  • No trans fats and hydrogenated oils
  • No high fructose corn syrup
  • Snacks are natural, organic or gluten-free

This is probably the most "adventurous" snack in the box for me!

When you order a Love with Food subscription, you can choose from a Tasting plan ($7.99/month, U.S. only), a Deluxe Box (starts at $16.50/month, available for U.S. and international customers), which is what I received, or a gluten-free box (stars at $19.99/month, available for U.S. and international).

All three plans have free shipping for U.S. customers, and you can cancel your box at any time without fees.

A special deal for my readers, too: get 40% off your first Deluxe Box (click here).
*That means your first deluxe box would be $11.95 (instead of $16.99-$19.99, which is the regular price).

My thoughts about the box:
I really liked the snacks I received, and I'm excited to try out the others that I haven't sampled yet. For me, $16.50/month is a little pricey, but for me to actually go out and find these products at my local Whole Foods or Fresh Thyme store, I might not be able to find all of them; the selection was very varied.

I see on the site too that you can save money by choosing an annual plan, 3-month, or 6-month plan, too, which is great.

I would recommend this subscription box for foodies who are trying to eat healthier, or even for parents who have kids who like to snack - the snacks contained in the Love with Food box are definitely a better choice nutrition-wise than the normal junk you'd find at in the snack aisle.

Have you ever subscribed to a monthly subscription box before? If so, what kind of products did you receive?
